Optional quick coffee stop at a roadside café in Malveira. 09:15 – Arrive in Mafra Highlights: 🏰 Palácio Nacional de Mafra – majestic Baroque palace, monastery, and basilica (UNESCO site). Don’t miss: the royal library, one of Europe’s most beautiful. Guided visit: ~1 h 15 min. 🥐 Snack: Pastelaria Polo Norte or Fradinho for a travesseiro de Mafra or pão de Mafra. Stay: ~1 h 30 min


10:45 – Depart for Aldeia Típica de José Franco (≈ 10 min drive) 📍 Local name: Aldeia Típica de José Franco Located in Sobreiro, between Mafra and Ericeira — sometimes nicknamed “Portugal em Miniatura” because of its detailed reproductions of Portuguese rural life. Highlights: 🏡 Miniature houses, windmills, workshops, and animated scenes showing traditional Portuguese trades. 🪆 Artisan pottery and bread ovens still in use. 🍞 Try the pão com chouriço baked on-site or grab a ginjinha (cherry liqueur). Great for photos and a short cultural immersion. Stay: ~45 min


11:30 – Depart for Ericeira (≈ 15 min drive) 11:45 – Arrive in Ericeira (Fishermen’s & Surf Town) Highlights: 🌊 Praia dos Pescadores – right in town, great for a walk. 🏄 Ribeira d’Ilhas viewpoint – panoramic ocean views over the world-famous surf break. 🚶 Old Town Walk: Blue-and-white houses, charming alleys, boutiques, and cafés. 🍽️ Lunch suggestions (12:30–14:00): Mar d’Areia – classic seafood rice & grilled fish with sea view. Tik Tapas – relaxed, excellent petiscos. Tasca da Boa Viagem – authentic local spot. After lunch: Enjoy a coastal stroll or a short coffee stop at Gelatomania by Praia do Sul. Day tours
The ticket for a tour entitles the holder to the transportation, entrance fees, services specified in the program and an official guide interpreter. Extras are not included. Children under 4 years of age are carried free (meals to be paid by the adult in charge) between 5 and 10 years of age will pay 50% of the normal price. If the number of participants falls below 7 passengers the tour operator reserves the right to use minibuses or private car.

Private tours
Private tours with guide/drivers (4 and 8 seater vehicles) don't include entrances and guide services inside monuments, meals or other extras. Unless required by clients, these private tours with guide/drivers will not have an official guide interpreter but an official guide driver (explains monuments inside the vehicle and suggests free time for visits). Private tours with guide interpreters (in buses with guide interpreter + driver) don't include entrance fees, meals or other extras but may include guide services inside monuments. According to Portuguese law, guided services inside monuments or on any other tourist attraction can only be provided by official guide interpreters.

Cancellation fees
Day tours and private tours: up to 3 labour days before departure - 25% of total price afterwards no refund is granted. Long and short range tours: up to 7 labour days before departure: 25% of total price afterwards no refund is granted. In the case of No Shows on services or on tours, starting at the airport, harbour, train or bus station, hotel, etc, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

General conditions
Insurance required by Portuguese Law. All tours are subject to alteration without notice. National Monuments close on public holidays and special occasions without notice. Luggage is carried at client's risk, these being advised to watch the loading and unloading of their belongings.

Complaints
These will only be accepted in written once directed to the agency where the reservation and payment were done, within the limit of 15 days after the service has been rendered. In agreement with the EC directive, complaints can only be accepted after details have been communicated to the respective suppliers (hotels, guides, local agents, etc.), during the trip or stay, demanding the respective documents to confirm the incident.
